 PROCEEDINGS  :

             The purchase price of Biomass based power was fixed based on the guidelines of Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources at Rs.2.25 per unit with effect from 1.4.95 with 5 % annual increase for a period of five years, vide B.P. First cited. Similarly, the purchase price of Municipal Solid waste based power was also fixed in the above line, vide B.P. under reference second cited. As provided in the above Board Proceedings. The purchase price of Biomass and Municiapl solid, liquid and other industrial waste based power were reviewed. After careful consideration, the Tamilnadu Electricity Board has approved the following :

1. The purchase price of energy received from the power projects using Non-conventional fuels like Biomass and Municipal solid, liquid and other Industrial wastes, animal wastes etc. is fixed at Rs.2.73 per unit effective from 1.4.200 with 5 % annual escalation, over the previous year rate, for a period of nine years upto the year 2010. The price so fixed shall not exceed 90 % of the prevailing H.T. Tariff-I rate applicable for industrial consumers which may be revised from time to time.

2. The above purchase price shall be reviewed after Ten years during the year 2010. Till such review is made and a new rate is finalised, the Tenth year rate will be continued to be paid if the power generating company continue to supply its surplus power to TNEB.

3. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) shall be kept inforce from the date of agreement, for a period of fifteen years or for the useful life period of the plant which ever is less.

 Banking and wheeling charges of energy exported and wheeled by the above projects will be regulated as per B.P. under reference third cited.
